Having red gums is not healthy. Red gums is one of the common dental problem that are commonly suffered by a lot of people. It is also sometime accompanied by bad breath but is normal. The gums commonly indicates the signs and symptoms of gum diseases.
Other indications of gum disease are swollen and bleeding gums especially during brushing your teeth. The earliest form of gum disease is gingivitis, if left untreated it may lead into more serious infection or gum disease called periodontitis. Infection caused by gum disease does not only affect the gums itself but the tissues and the bones underneath that holds the teeth and the worst that can happen is tooth loss.
Having red gums is one sign that you need to give attention to superior proper oral health hygiene. Regular brushing and flossing your teeth prevents bacteria to grow in your mouth. Neglecting the simple symptoms of gingivitis may lead into more serious dental problem but also in the overall health.
